|Alliums are native to most of the northern hemisphere, distributed throughout a great number of countries and regions around the world. A single, comprehensive, modern treatment of the genus doesn't yet exist, thus it becomes necessary to research important botanical floras, such as the two shown on the left, with which to gain an understanding of the genus Allium. Listed below is a selected bibliography of pertinent references. Internet URL-based references are also listed, but please be aware that these are subject to the vagaries of internet address changes and may not be active. Personal commentary has been added to some of the listed references.|
