Epimedium grandiflorum 'Dark Beauty'

 In early to mid April, the foliage shows an intense, burnished leather-red
color. In the view above, the flower buds on red stems are just
beginning to emerge and extend past the foliage.

View a close-up of the red foliage, showing fine teeth at the leaf edges.

In the latter part of April, the foliage begins it's transition to green,
showing lovely pinkish red colors, with hints of green showing through.
