Junos on Ice

Junos on Ice copyright 2002 Mark McDonough

The first photos taken for the Juno Iris 2002 gallery were snapped
on April 16.  Here's a photo, just 10 days later on April 26th, after
a thin blanket of heavy wet snow (that froze and became icy) makes
a mess of the Juno Iris bed.  The golden flowers of I. bucharica
shine through the snow, while the white flowers of I. magnifica alba
are camouflaged.

Later that day, the snow melted and
the flowers perked up to continue flowering.
